Maybelline New York: The Mega Plush Volum' Express Mascara.

Sorry it's been almost a week since my last blog post ladies :(. As I've only just started up I didn't want to post too much to begin with. I've decided I'm going to review 2 products a week and in between I might write a random blog post. I've noticed I've had a few blog viewings, so thank you ladies :) perhaps leave a comment next time? Would really love to hear your thoughts and opinions!

I bought this mascara at the beginning of the week, as the one I was using before had dried out, boo :(! A friend had recommended it to me, so I thought why not give it a whirl?!

The mascara is Maybelline's first gel-mousse mascara to help give massive volume to the lashes. The brush is an extra-soft patented flexor brush which is really good for reaching the tiny eyelashes, other brushes often miss. It aims at creating long and volumised lashes without making them hard and flaky to the touch and I did notice my lashes still felt soft after application.

Usually with mascaras I actually have to use two, as one just doesn't give me the desired look I want. Surprisingly, this mascara managed to do it! Admittedly it did take me 4 coats, but still it did it! It's all about personal preference, one coat would be perfect if you just want your natural lashes to look slightly longer and if you want them to look longer or thicker you just apply another coat. I would advise you to use eyelash curlers before applying the mascara - it really helps define those lashes even more! Honestly, I think all women should use eyelash curlers anyway, as they really do work!

I did have one problem with the mascara though, as the day went on I kept finding black marks underneath my eye where the mascara had melted almost. But it was a warm day so it could have been due to that? After wiping with a tissue the marks disappeared though so don't worry!

Maybelline Mega Plush Volum' Express Mascara retails at around £7.99. I think this is a reasonable price, as most mascaras are around £10 or more.

Rating: 2.5/5 - I do think the mascara is good and it definitely made my lashes longer; but the fact it took me 4 coats to achieve my desired look and it left black marks under my eyes; is the reason I gave it this rating.

Vaseline Spray & Go Body Moisturiser.

After releasing my first blog post, my nerves have gone down a bit! I was constantly questioning whether it was a good idea or not. I just hope at least someone enjoys reading it :)

This moisturiser was launched a few weeks back - I'll admit I had reservations.. wondering if this was just like all the other moisturisers I've tried..
Admittedly I haven't tried any Vaseline products before, so I could have been pre-judging.

Which I was..

I can't even explain how much I LOVE this product! It really is "spray & go" as long as you spray from the correct distance! It has a nice continuous flow, it's light on the skin and non-greasy. All I had to do was give it a quick rub in and it was gone! It's lovely to apply on a hot day as it cools you right down! All day I feel super soft and I've noticed a huge difference in the appearance of my skin in the last couple of weeks.

The spray I'm using is "pure cocoa butter and stratys" it smells amazing!! It reminds me of being on holiday (if you have this you'll know exactly what I mean!), also the smell lasts all day long - even better! Spray & Go also comes in 2 other types: Pure Oat Extract and Stratys and also Pure Aloe Vera Extract and Stratys. So see which one suits you best :)

Regarding body moisturisers I've always found it hard to find one that suits me perfectly. They're either too greasy, too thick or irritating. I unfortunately suffer from psoriasis and finding a moisturiser that didn't aggravate my skin was impossible! Until now..

Vaseline Spray & Go Body Moisturiser retails at £4.99

Rating:
5/5 - one of the best £5 I've ever spent!

What are your opinions on this moisturiser? I'd love to hear them :)

Soap & Glory One Heck Of A Blot.

Hello :)
I'm a bit of a beauty fanatic so I thought I'd start a blog to share my opinions of products I've purchased recently. Hopefully it helps some of you, so enjoy ladies!

I thought I'd kick start my blog by reviewing a new addition to my make-up bag:
Soap & Glory's One Heck Of A Blot.

I've always suffered with an oily t-zone, and often found it difficult to find a suitable powder that would actually control the shine. After doing a little research, I came across the above product which had glowing reviews, so I thought I'd try it for myself.

It's a compressed powder, in a small compact, perfect for slipping into your handbag - it even comes with a little puff and mirror! What I noticed when applying the powder was how light it felt on the skin and the way it mattifies the skin before your very eyes! Some powders I've used in the past have left my skin feeling a little dry and flaky. What I noticed with this powder is that it left my skin feeling like velvet.

I've been using this powder for the last few days and I've been really impressed with the finish, the only thing that I have done is swapped the puff for a powder brush, as I personally found it made it easier to apply.

This product is currently selling for £12. This is a little more than I would usually spend on a powder, however I've seen such a dramatic change in the level of shine and the appearance of my make-up, I feel it's totally worth it!

Rating:
4.5/5 - a make-up must have!
