Eyeko London "Curvy" Brush Mascara.

In the end I just got fed up with my Maybelline Mega Plush mascara, I constantly had to keep going to the toilet to rub the black marks away from under my eyes and I thought enough is enough! I started to research different mascaras, I wanted something really different. Then I came across this! Eyeko London Mascara, I really liked the look of the product and with it being in a squeeze tube instead of the usual plastic one, I knew it was a completely different mascara to anything else on the market!

This mascara comes in 3 different types:
  • Curvy - 90 degree lift, holds the curl, lashes stay lifted for 12 hours. Lashes are visibly curled and lifted but feel soft not hard
  • Fat - fibre-enriched formula with keratin to help bind fibres to lashes so they don't stray. Helps strengthen lashes leaving them visibly fuller but light and lifted
  • Skinny - separating brush reveals lashes without clumping
  • I'm fortunate enough to have quite long natural lashes, they just don't seem to have much of a curl to them, so I knew the Curvy mascara was the perfect one for me!

The ingredients are all natural with an additional special ingredient, shea butter - to help condition the lashes! I have to admit I've noticed my lashes are a lot softer since using this mascara :)

I use eyelash curlers before applying this mascara and unfortunately I don't see a major difference in the curve of my lashes. Also those of you who have read my blog before, know I have to use a few mascaras to get my desired look. Again, this mascara doesn't do the job by itself! :(

Eyeko London Brush Mascara in Curvy, Skinny and Fat retails at £12.99 each. I don't think the price is too bad, most mascaras are around £10 now anyway.

    Rating:
3/5 - I've given this rating because I didn't see a dramatic difference in the curl. But the look of the product is definitely different to any other mascara I've used before.

Aussie Beach Mate Shampoo & Conditioner.

We've actually had some nice weather this year! I don't know about you but my hair has definitely suffered :( Aussie's come to the rescue for us though with this shampoo and conditioner! "Beach Mate" is a post beach/sun cleanse which helps to revive the hair and help banish drying caused by the sun.

It contains the same formula as the Aussie Miracle Moist collection and also Australian Macadamia Nut Oil. They refer to this shampoo and conditioner as a lifeguard in a bottle - I totally agree! After just one use I could see a dramatic difference, my hair looked healthy again, felt strong and the shine was amazing!

One thing I absolutely LOVE it for.. is the smell! If you've used this or have smelt it you'll know exactly what I mean! The smell is a cross between fruit, sherbet and palma violets! I'm sat here writing this and I can smell it - the bottles not even open! After using this you won't mind if it's a windy day, just makes you smell it more!

They also do their "3 minute miracle" in this range, for a really deep cleanse! If you're going away or feel as though the sun has dried your hair out I advise you to get this! You won't regret it :)

Aussie Beach Mate Shampoo & Conditioner retails at £4.49 each (the Aussie Beach Mate 3 Minute Miracle retails at £4.99), they are limited edition and only available in the summer months!

    Rating:
5/5 - Exactly what it says on the bottle! A beach mate!

Remington S3500 Ceramic Straight 230 Hair Straightener.

About 4 months ago unfortunately my poor GHD's broke :( I was gutted! I tried whatever I could to fix them but nothing worked. I contacted them to see if they could help at all - of course they couldn't, typical! As a person who straightens their hair near enough every day I needed a new pair and fast! You know how expensive GHD's are and I didn't really want to have to pay that much.

So I hit the internet, reading reviews on various hair straighteners and came across these. They are cheap considering the prices some other brands are, and I thought to myself even if these aren't the best, at least they'll get me by for a bit!

These straighteners have longer length floating ceramic coated plates which provides the hair with 4 times more protection. It reaches it's top temperature of 230 degrees in 15 seconds, which is perfect for when you need to get ready quickly! It also has a temperature selector with 30 heat setting. The straighteners don't pull the hair or snag at it either.

My hair is naturally curly so finding some that would actually do the job is difficult, hence why I only used GHD's before! But these do an even better job! My hair is still really straight the next day! My hair looks really shiny and healthy after use - even though I've just blasted a load of heat onto it! They're lightweight and really easy to use, they also come with a heat protective pouch, for you to rest the straighteners on during use and then to store away in when your not.

All my family have now swapped to these! I honestly think these are better than any other straightening iron I have used before.

Remington S3500 Ceramic Straight 230 Hair Straighteners retail at £25.99. A true bargain in my eyes!

    Rating:
4.5/5 - The only reason I didn't rate these 5/5 is because I'd like them even more if they came in different colours! But that's just me being fussy! :)

    Hello!! :)

Just a quick picture update. My nails have grown slightly so I thought I'd paint my own nails using my Red Carpet Gel Nail Kit, I used the "Mimosas by the Pool" colour it's like a hot rich coral colour :) I really like it!

    What do you think :)?

Red Carpet Manicure Gel Polish Kit.

When I heard a knock at the door and signed for a package it was only when I went back inside that I realised what it was.. I was SO EXCITED!! I've wanted a gel nail kit for ages! I saved up for this one and treated myself :D

Only problem was I'd just had to file my nails right down the day before as one had broke! (just my luck right?) luckily I had a lovely sister who lent me her long nails to try it out on! I highly recommend sitting down and watching the DVD first, it explains every step to you. My first try went well actually, lasted over a week! Here's a couple of pictures of my second attempt applied 3 days ago..

    Now let's talk colours!
There's 2 sets to choose from.. Autumn or Summer:

    - The Autumn set contains:
    1 x Publicity Stunt - mulberry
1 x Bourgeois Babe - sheer berry red
1 x Sands of Time - creamy latte

    - The Summer set contains:
1 x Mimosas by the Pool - hot rich coral
1 x Socialite Status - bright fuchsia pink
1 x Sea Cloud Cruise - baby blue

I chose the summer collection! I love my nails being a focus point so I thought the brighter colours would be more me :) The colours look even better when they're right in front of you! My favourite colour is the blue, It's really different and eye-catching! The key to a great finish is to make sure the layers are thin as you can keep building up the colour (if the layers are thick it won't work!)

    The kit contains:
    - LED light and mains lead (can also be plugged into your computer via USB!)
    - Instructions card
    - Instructional DVD
    - Prep (nail sanitizer)
    - Structure (base coat nail gel)
    - Brilliance (seal & shine top coat nail gel)
    - Revitalize (nourishing nail & cuticle oil)
    - x2 Purify (pre & post application cleanser)
    - x2 Erase (gel nail polish remover)
    - LED nail gel polish x3 (summer or autumn collection)
    - x2 removal kits
    - Accessories kit (1 cuticle & pro buffing stick, 2 strips adhesive buffing tabs, 1 emery board and 10 orangewood sticks)

You may find your nails feel a little tacky after application too. That is totally normal, just pop some purify on a cotton pad and wipe over the nails - then your good to go! The timings for how long to keep your nails under the LED light are stated on the box. The more you practice the better you will get at it! Just have fun with it :)

Red Carper Manicure Gel Polish Kit retails at £82.50. You've probably read that and thought WHAT?! But for what you get in the kit and the result you get it's so worth it! It seriously looks like you've had your nails done at a salon.

    Rating:
5/5 - I don't regret spending that much money on this kit whatsoever! I've spent a lot of money on various nail varnishes in the past and I'd spend a good hour and a half painting my nails and waiting for them to dry and as soon as I did something they would chip or peel.. I was sick of it! This polish lasts so much longer and the shine/finish is AMAZING!

    I love it :)!
Have you tried anything like this before?

    Nivea Express Hydration Primer.

I'll admit I normally use either Mally Perfect Prep Primer or Bare Minerals Prime Time Neutralizing Primer so I didn't exactly have high expectations for this one! I'm always up for trying new products and sharing my opinions on them though, so I thought I'd bite the bullet and try it :)

When I first tried this primer, the first thing that worried me was the consistency - it's quite watery! But after massaging the primer into my skin, I was pleasantly surprised! My skin felt smooth and looked better. My makeup went on smoothly and the finish was nice. Another thing I found strange was that my skin tingled slightly whilst massaging it in..

The primer is enriched with vitamins and natural locus extract leaving the skin moisturised and looking healthy. The one I bought was for normal to combination skin but they do sell one for dry and sensitive skin types as well.

Nivea Express Hydration Primer retails at £4.99. I think this is a good price as most primers are over £10

    Rating:
3/5 - the finish was nice, but the tingling put me off slightly!

Maybelline New York: The Mega Plush Volum' Express Mascara.

Sorry it's been almost a week since my last blog post ladies :(. As I've only just started up I didn't want to post too much to begin with. I've decided I'm going to review 2 products a week and in between I might write a random blog post. I've noticed I've had a few blog viewings, so thank you ladies :) perhaps leave a comment next time? Would really love to hear your thoughts and opinions!

I bought this mascara at the beginning of the week, as the one I was using before had dried out, boo :(! A friend had recommended it to me, so I thought why not give it a whirl?!

The mascara is Maybelline's first gel-mousse mascara to help give massive volume to the lashes. The brush is an extra-soft patented flexor brush which is really good for reaching the tiny eyelashes, other brushes often miss. It aims at creating long and volumised lashes without making them hard and flaky to the touch and I did notice my lashes still felt soft after application.

Usually with mascaras I actually have to use two, as one just doesn't give me the desired look I want. Surprisingly, this mascara managed to do it! Admittedly it did take me 4 coats, but still it did it! It's all about personal preference, one coat would be perfect if you just want your natural lashes to look slightly longer and if you want them to look longer or thicker you just apply another coat. I would advise you to use eyelash curlers before applying the mascara - it really helps define those lashes even more! Honestly, I think all women should use eyelash curlers anyway, as they really do work!

I did have one problem with the mascara though, as the day went on I kept finding black marks underneath my eye where the mascara had melted almost. But it was a warm day so it could have been due to that? After wiping with a tissue the marks disappeared though so don't worry!

Maybelline Mega Plush Volum' Express Mascara retails at around £7.99. I think this is a reasonable price, as most mascaras are around £10 or more.

Rating: 2.5/5 - I do think the mascara is good and it definitely made my lashes longer; but the fact it took me 4 coats to achieve my desired look and it left black marks under my eyes; is the reason I gave it this rating.

Vaseline Spray & Go Body Moisturiser.

After releasing my first blog post, my nerves have gone down a bit! I was constantly questioning whether it was a good idea or not. I just hope at least someone enjoys reading it :)

This moisturiser was launched a few weeks back - I'll admit I had reservations.. wondering if this was just like all the other moisturisers I've tried..
Admittedly I haven't tried any Vaseline products before, so I could have been pre-judging.

    Which I was..

I can't even explain how much I LOVE this product! It really is "spray & go" as long as you spray from the correct distance! It has a nice continuous flow, it's light on the skin and non-greasy. All I had to do was give it a quick rub in and it was gone! It's lovely to apply on a hot day as it cools you right down! All day I feel super soft and I've noticed a huge difference in the appearance of my skin in the last couple of weeks.

The spray I'm using is "pure cocoa butter and stratys" it smells amazing!! It reminds me of being on holiday (if you have this you'll know exactly what I mean!), also the smell lasts all day long - even better! Spray & Go also comes in 2 other types: Pure Oat Extract and Stratys and also Pure Aloe Vera Extract and Stratys. So see which one suits you best :)

Regarding body moisturisers I've always found it hard to find one that suits me perfectly. They're either too greasy, too thick or irritating. I unfortunately suffer from psoriasis and finding a moisturiser that didn't aggravate my skin was impossible! Until now..

Vaseline Spray & Go Body Moisturiser retails at £4.99

    Rating:
5/5 - one of the best £5 I've ever spent!

What are your opinions on this moisturiser? I'd love to hear them :)

Soap & Glory One Heck Of A Blot.

    Contents of packaging

    Hello :)
I'm a bit of a beauty fanatic so I thought I'd start a blog to share my opinions of products I've purchased recently. Hopefully it helps some of you, so enjoy ladies!

I thought I'd kick start my blog by reviewing a new addition to my make-up bag:
Soap & Glory's One Heck Of A Blot.

I've always suffered with an oily t-zone, and often found it difficult to find a suitable powder that would actually control the shine. After doing a little research, I came across the above product which had glowing reviews, so I thought I'd try it for myself.

It's a compressed powder, in a small compact, perfect for slipping into your handbag - it even comes with a little puff and mirror! What I noticed when applying the powder was how light it felt on the skin and the way it mattifies the skin before your very eyes! Some powders I've used in the past have left my skin feeling a little dry and flaky. What I noticed with this powder is that it left my skin feeling like velvet.

I've been using this powder for the last few days and I've been really impressed with the finish, the only thing that I have done is swapped the puff for a powder brush, as I personally found it made it easier to apply.

This product is currently selling for £12. This is a little more than I would usually spend on a powder, however I've seen such a dramatic change in the level of shine and the appearance of my make-up, I feel it's totally worth it!

    Rating:
    4.5/5 - a make-up must have!
